Upcoming Events for Spring 2017!

Feb 18             Members’ evening outing to see Wrington Youth Drama’s very own Sam Sprouting (the eponymous Jack from Jack in the Box) starring in Goodnight Mister Tom at the Blakehay Theatre in Weston-super-Mare. If you want tickets (£14.50, concessions £12.50) please contact Mark on 863450 (mark-bullen@hotmail.co.uk ) by Saturday 21 January.

Please note that these tickets will qualify for a members’ discount of £1.50 per person (please quote your membership number with your request).

Feb 25             Wrington Drama Club Quiz Night. Memorial Hall 7pm. Tickets, priced £8 to include a hot supper and dessert, will be available from Amors and Buglers early next month. Look out for advertising posters in the village, Village Journal Facebook etc.etc.

Apr 22             An all day (9.30 – 5pm) acting workshop has been arranged – venue URC Chapel. This is being run by The House of Fun Theatre from Camelford in North Cornwall. We advertised this recently by e-mail and the reaction has been so positive that all twelve available places have been snapped up, with a reserve list being kept in case of drop-outs.

The Club is contributing to the workshop costs, so each member will pay just £16 to include light lunch and refreshments. We have paid THOFT a deposit and full details will be sent to all participants in due course.

May 5              (Friday) Members of the Club will be taking part in a one-off “’Allo, ‘Allo” themed evening being organised as part of the Fair Week activities

May 13            We are planning a Saturday night theatre trip to the Redgrave Theatre in Clifton to see Bristol Musical Comedy Club performing Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Once again, members can benefit from a club discount and if we get a group of ten or more, we should be able to benefit from a further reduction. A further communication will be sent out in early March but if any of you want to go to this show, please advise Mark.

Quiz Night

Drama Club Quiz We normally hold this highly popular event in November but owing to the Osmans’ holiday plans and Sarah’s imminent new arrival we have delayed it until next year – Saturday 25 February at the Memorial Hall. Make a note of the date in your diary – it’s always a really fun evening, especially with Rosemary’s great hot food!

download (7)We are holding a play Reading of “House Guest”, a thriller by Francis Durbridge which is a possibility for our Spring Production to be directed by Fred Cowgill.

The cast is 4 male and 4 female.

Venue: Reading Room, The Triangle

7.30 Weds 26th October

Wine and light refreshments available as usual.

Betty Blue Eyes at the Redgrave Theatre

t_56A few of us are interested in seeing ‘Betty Blue Eyes’ by the Bristol Musical Comedy Club at the Redgrave theatre on Friday 21st of October. Tickets are only £15 and we may be able to get a discount to bring the price down further.
